Marele portar Ion Voinescu a decedat la varsta de 88 ani

Fostului portar al CCA, devenita, ulterior, Steaua, Ion Voinescu a decedat la varsta de 88 de ani, anunta Federatia Romana de Fotbal, conform News.ro.

Nascut la 18 aprilie 1929, Ion Voinescu a aparat in 20 de meciuri poarta echipei nationale a Romaniei.

In cariera sa de senior a jucat pentru Metalul Bucuresti (1948-1950) si pentru CCA – Steaua Bucuresti (1950-1963), castigand de 6 ori titlul si de 5 ori Cupa Romaniei.

Pentru meritele sale sportive deosebite, i-au fost decernate Ordinul Muncii clasa a II-a si Steaua Republicii.

Romania’s COVID-19 daily case count rises by 2,745; tests performed in last 24 hours: over 28,000

As many as 2,745 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 in Romania were recorded in the last 24 hours following 28,000 tests nationwide, of which 23,060 are RT-PCR tests and 5,432 are rapid antigenic tests, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, reported on Tuesday, according to AGERPRES.

These are cases of patients that have not previously tested positive.

As of Monday, 697,898 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus were confirmed in Romania. Of these, 630,236 people were declared cured.

To date, 5,193,417 RT-PCR tests and 51,608 rapid antigen tests have been processed nationwide.

In the last 24 hours, 23,060 RT-PCR tests were performed (14,692 based on case definition and medical protocol and 8,368 on request) and 5,432 rapid antigen tests.

Coronavirus/INSP – weekly report: 31pct of deaths in Bucharest, Timis, Suceava, Sibiu, Constanta counties

The National Institute of Public Health (INSP) on Tuesday reported that 31pct of all deaths in people infected with the novel coronavirus were recorded in the week of January 11-17, in Bucharest and in the Timis, Suceava, Sibiu and Constanta counties, according to AGERPRES.

According to the weekly report, 36.6pct of all cases of infection were recorded in Bucharest, Timis, Cluj, Iasi and Ilfov.

From the beginning of the pandemic until now, out of 66 cases, one has been recorded among the medical staff.

According to the INSP, 85pct of all deaths were in people over 60 and 60pct of deaths were in men.

The same report shows that 95.1pct of the deceased had at least one associated comorbidity.
